Discounts that are $ based are not showing up in the discount option but the ones that are % based

We have items that we want to offer a $1 off if they have a discount card. We already have a % off and those show in the discount area of the cart for application but the $ amounts do not. Can someone please advise?

Hey @Capitol22.  I’m assuming here that you aren’t seeing the dollar-based discount at the item level.  Unfortunately, this is how Square discounts currently work.  Dollar-based discounts are only available at the transaction level and can’t be applied to individual items.  Normally, I’d recommend that you submit a feature request to add this capability, but I know for certain that it has been requested by a few other sellers.  So far, however, it has not been added to the product roadmap.  So, if you want to add dollar-based discounts, you’ll need a discount button on your Retail POS grid to add them.

@Capitol22 You can add a “Discounts” action button to your Retail POS grid, for quick access to your dollar-based discounts.  To do that, click the blue “Edit” button above the grid, then select an empty box > Action > Discounts.  This will create a button where you can access all discounts.  Alternatively, you can add individual discount buttons if there are a couple you use all the time.
