SmarterSign just had our Digital Menu Board application approved for the Square Marketplace and we currently have the ability to sync a merchant's catalog data to their digital menu boards. We also have the ability to mark an item as "Sold Out" and have it reflected on the digital board.
For those using digital menu boards (or looking to), what features do you want available? What issues are you having with your menus that you want solved?
@SmarterSign PRICE PRICE PRICE
My issue is 20$ for a managed sign...When you want to have say 5 signs in your store...thats 100$ subscription. It is just too expensive for what most restaurateurs have time to mess with for the feature set. 1 sign...sure..but not having a decreasing cost to add more is a big mistake I see so many digital signage makers facing. What you need is a clean interface with scheduling and web templates that update as you say. Once we set up the digital template it auto updates without having to go to 3 different eco systems to do it.
If you can get the pricing at 7-10$ price point per sign (especially if we are supplying our own hardware: firestick, pi4, etc.) then I think you can be an industry disruptor.
