Is there any way in square for retail to force a note to be added to a sale if a cashier enters a custom amount?
It would be good to force a cashier to have to note what the item sold was so that I can allocate it to a sales category.
Thanks in advance.
Hey @Kirst81! I see this is your first post, welcome! We love seeing new faces around here. 🙂
The ability to make notes mandatory when entering custom amounts isn’t supported at this time. To clarify, are you looking to enter a custom amount and then allocate this transaction to an existing category after the sale? If so, please feel free to provide more details about the items you sell, your categories, and any other specific requirements relating to your checkout process. I’ll do my best to find suitable alternatives for you.
Although this feature isn’t available at the moment, I encourage you to visit our Ideate board to see if there's an existing feature request for mandatory notes on custom amounts. If there is, please feel free to add comments supporting it, explaining how it would benefit your business. If there isn't one, you can submit a feature request and invite other sellers to share their thoughts and experiences.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
