Hi,
When I try to add more modifiers after sending an order to the kitchen, it does not allow me to add modifiers and only shows payment-related modifications. Is there a way you can add more modifiers after orders are sent to the kitchen?
@Hangari The order can have new items added, but you can only void or comp an existing item. Editing modifiers would technically be editing the item which isn't allowed more for security and then also, how would someone in the kitchen know it is not just a new item, etc.
What I would do is add a notes item that does not have a price, you can add this to the ticket and manually add the modifiers or just make a few notes for the kitchen and when you send the ticket or save the ticket will send that back to the kitchen.
Thank You, @Donnie-M. One more question... if you don't mind.
On the floor plan, some tables with orders placed have time on them, and some don't. And some tables turn green when I print a bill, but some don't. I have three iPads where I can place orders. Is it related to which iPad you place orders on? It seems as though time and color act unpredictably.
@Hangari I think this is related to the time since the check was opened. I don't use the floor plan, but I have seen the settings. So it could be related to an ipad specific setting to the table information. I would look in that area first. Generally with restaurants the settings should be the same across the board. It could be an item not clearing off from the kds if you are using that.
Thank you, @Donnie-M. Yes, it might be something about the setting. I found last night that the appearance of table colors and time spent on each table depends on which iPad you place an order. So, no matter how you perfectly set up a group of iPads, the table colors and time do not show on each device. I just don't understand why Square does not allow users to control their POS system more "systematically."
@Hangari Ok, Now I understand what you are seeing, I will dig on my end and see if I can see if there is any kind of work around or that is intended or even a bug. But I do understand how it would be nice for those to match up from a management point of view to know exactly what your table times are doing.
