We just reopened a closed Bar & Grill. We now have a part time employee, so now, we need to cash out tips from cc. As usual Square support is of no help as in the last two times I called them with an issue. I'm hoping the community can help.
Thank you, Sandy
Hey @mosbunker. There’s a few items of information missing from your post. But, I’ll try. If I missed something, feel free to add other information I might need. For now, I’m assuming you are using Square Payroll, and that all employees are taking their card tips in cash each shift.
You will have to use the pay out feature of your cash drawers to log the cash you pay out as tips. Then you’ll need to manually adjust the card tips each week when they are imported into your payroll. This is because card tips are automatically imported as tips to be paid in the employee’s check. You’ll need to manually zero out card tips for each employee, and add the card tips to the “tips already paid” field. That way they still get taxed on those tips as is required, but those tips won’t be added to their net pay.
I hope that helps, but if I missed something or you need to supply some more information just post here again
