I am attempting to integrate bar codes into our sales process. Currently we just type in the part number into our register to pull up the product and put into a ticket. I am quick at this, but imagine being able to just scan a bar code is still even faster.
How can I use the bar code that comes on the package of each item I sell? Currently cannot figure this out. I put the bar code into the system (GTIN BOX) and it does not pull up when I scan. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try Scanning the included barcode into the SKU field. Depending on the Square App you use GTIN scanning is not available in Square POS free, it is available in Square for Retail Free though. You need to sign up for Square for Retail Paid then stop the subscription on the paid version before your month trial ends. This is the way it worked for me before.
Also what system are you using and which Barcode Scanner are you using? A bluetooth Scanner may work with your Phone or Tablet but may not work with Squares software. I am not sure if the Black Square app works with GTIN but Square for retail (free) does.
