Bag Fee for Takeout Orders

Hello! I saw another archived post regarding this but it doesn't look like there's been a solution yet. I'm looking for a way to have the Washington Mandated bag fee apply to any orders marked "takeout". Right now our workaround is an item named "bag fee" but that requires that it's pushed every time, and is easy to miss especially during busy hours. We already have it set up for online orders as a service charge but need something for takeout orders in store.

@PaseoSeattle In virginia they passed this in some counties, but there they mostly just ask how many bags and they have a button to hit, and at a dollar general type store that is every transaction.  You could set the bag fee up as a tax and tie it to dining options, but that isn't as clean as you might like.  What % of online vs. takeout orders do you have?

Hi @PaseoSeattle.. Unfortunately, what you are doing is the only way to handle this right now.  There is no way to link service charges to only takeout orders.   I know it has been requested before, as you mentioned.  But I don't see it on the roadmap in the near future.  For now, all you can do is put the fear of god in your employees.  It shouldn't be that hard them since they are hitting the takeout button anyway.  Sigh.
