Hi @MUHLY. This is not possible at all. And the problem here is not with Square so much as it is with card processing laws and regulations. All items sold using your Square (or any other merchant service) account are considered your sales, period. You really only have a few options available to you.
- The workaround you already mentioned — get access to your collaborator’s card processing account and ring up that sale there.
- Take the money, then work out with your accountant how you could legally deduct these sales on your books. You’d have to send the money to the collaborator, and at the end of the year you would have to give them a 1099 showing the total of these sales so that both of your taxes would be correct and legal.
I’d usually tell sellers to submit a feature request to Square, but in your case that feature request would run afoul of laws and regulations surrounding credit card processing. So, that would not be an option for you.
