Hi, I am seeking info about a specific scenario.
I am a retailer who sells items in my shop. I am about to start selling a product that is a collaboration with another business. That business will be collecting all funds and managing accounting of all of these products. I'd like any sales of this product to be connected to THEIR Square account. However, my store sells items that belong exclusively to me. I know one option would be to have separate transactions for when I sell those items, but this is not ideal for the customer. Is it possible for a customer to buy 3 items, 1 of which is part of that collaboration, and those sales go to the other Square account and the other 2 go to mine- all as one transaction from the customer?
Thank you so much!
Hi @MUHLY. This is not possible at all. And the problem here is not with Square so much as it is with card processing laws and regulations. All items sold using your Square (or any other merchant service) account are considered your sales, period. You really only have a few options available to you.
I’d usually tell sellers to submit a feature request to Square, but in your case that feature request would run afoul of laws and regulations surrounding credit card processing. So, that would not be an option for you.
I hope that helps.
