Hi all. I am just setting up Square for Restaurants for the first time.
I have added a large number of items to my item library. About 120. Some (about 40) are archived, while the other 80 are available for sale. I only sell in-store, not online. I only have one store, and one menu. I am a takeaway bakery, so there is no table seating.
However, I am struggling to get all 80 items appearing easily on my POS. I understand that despite having these items in my library, I have to manually add them to my Menu. But if I only have one menu, is there no way to import all 80 items that are marked for sale into my menu, instead of doing this 80 times and hoping that I don't forget any (because even if I add an item, it still appears in the list of available items when I need to add another item). Seems a very convoluted process with no bulk add?
Hi @arjwiz 👋 welcome to the Seller Community 🙂
Thanks for the context.
Square for Restaurants does not support a bulk add feature for items to the menu. Each item needs to be manually added to the menu, even if they are already present in your item library.
If you have saved your item list externally as a .pdf, .jpg, or .png file. If you have, you could import that.
We understand that a bulk update capability would be beneficial, and your feedback is valuable. Our teams are constantly releasing new features and updates, so if there are any updates we'll be sure to let you know here.
Just looping back here @arjwiz
After some further testing, there may be a workaround here that can help.
In your Menu > Edit POS Layout > + > Add existing items
You'll have access to bulk-select your items to add them to your menu.
Let me know if you can test this and if it works for you!
