transferring customer to my site after credit card transaction

New to Square. Age 74 (poor short-term memory, so easily get lost and often end up going in circles at Square; has been so since my very first encounter.)

Over the last couple of days I set up a couple of items, and entered where I want Square to send control (redirect) customers after completing credit card transaction. I remember entering three or four times for separate items the url to redirect to, but now I just can't  trace back my steps to figure out how I did it. It's as if that option was suddenly removed yesterday! I've spent hours since last night trying to find that page where I did it. Hoping somebody can guide me. I find Square AI chats frustrating and unhelpful. Thanks.

Hi @PedalMagicInven.  I read your post a couple of times to be sure I understood it.  I’ve been with Square for 11 years now, and I’ve never heard of this capability in online stores.  I did some searches for similar posts, and every one of them I hit on confirmed that, so far, this is not possible with the Square Online Store.  Since we can not configure our receipt/checkout process right now, there is no was to redirect a customer to another page after they have completed their purchase.

Can you give me more details about where you’d like to redirect customers, and what you want to accomplish once they get to that new page?  Maybe I can figure out a way to give you a work-around.

Thanks!

@PedalMagicInven starting where @TheRealChipA left off (no way to redirect at this time), I'll offer a workaround that at least puts links to a page(s) you want a customer, after completing a purchase, to visit.

From your Online Store, go to Communications > Email & Text Alerts: Within these settings, there are several opportunities to customize communications with customers to include various URLs you'd like them to visit. I believe some alerts come with the Online store others would require an account upgrade.

More info on custom email & text alerts: https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6889-customize-store-emails-with-square-online-store

A less obvious place to put a URL might be Settings > Checkout: From here, scroll to the bottom and Edit Store Policies to include a Check this out... message with the URL you want them to visit.

Take care of yourself and, as life provides, someone else too.
