We have had issues with our customers experiencing slow response from the Square online payment system. I have been told it is because of the connection from Square through to the Banks associated with the credit cards and that the solution is to find a processing partner that works through authorize.net. Again, I have been told, authorize.net has its own gateway through the payment system and therefore payments with online sales are not put into a queue to get through the payment system.
Does Square offer any option for connecting through authorize.net or any other option that speeds up online processing?
The processing our customers experienced recently was so slow, many thought their order did not go through and went to the trouble of placing a second order only for us to then cancel one of their orders. I find this unacceptable for our customers.

Our team has confirmed that sellers no longer have the option to use Authorize.net as a payment processor—Square is currently the only supported option.
They also shared that transactions should process fairly quickly, with charges occurring in real time—unless you are taking in-person payments without an internet connection. For online sales, the transaction speed typically depends on the strength and stability of the internet connection.

Maya, Thanks for your reply, but our customers would disagree with your statement "that transactions should process fairly quickly, with charges occurring in real time..." All transactions for our sale during the first 28 hours are completely online. I don't know how many transactions you are referencing, but I can only tell you we had numerous customers who said the completion of their order was so slow, they dropped the order and placed a second one only to find out later that due to the slow completion of the credit card processing, they had to contact us to cancel one of the orders.
