instore inventory link to website

I'm trying to link my instore inventory to my website and not sure how to do that. i had alot of itmes in both my item library and on my website bit the stock on hand was not adjusting when i would sell something. example: I sold an item in my store but my website still showed i had it in stock. and i had sold some things on the site and my instore library still showed them on hand. How do i fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any help
