Your connection is not private

Hi guys,

I get the following error message on my page when loading. I submitted a support ticket 4 business days ago and haven't heard back. Phone and messaging services are not currently available.

Can anyone help?

Hey @PGibbins,

Welcome to the community 👋 🙂

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear you're having trouble with your site.

Looking at your DNS settings via who.is it looks like you've only got one A record set up at the moment.

The reason your SSL cannot be propagated is because of the failure to recognize our IP address. You can edit your DNS settings from your Square Online Dashboard by selecting your business name in the top right hand corner and selecting > Domain.

From there, you'll need to make sure that the only records on your domain are as follows;

1 A - type Record with the host/value set as the "@" or the * symbol (depends on your registrar) pointing to "199.34.228.164"

&

Another A type Record with the host value as "www" and pointing to "199.34.228.164".

After that, your SSL should propagate within 24-48 hours from setting the proper settings.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi @Arie, I already own the domain I wish to use and have set up the a records through my domain provider. Will this not work?

In this case, you can reach out to your domain provider directly and ask them for assistance @PGibbins. If you know where to find the DNS editing settings, you can add the A-record yourself.

Hey @Artisan-Maker,

Thanks for writing back in 👋

Looking at the website that's linked in your profile, https://www.myartisancollective.square.site, it's showing as secure from my end. I visited the site both on my phone, and computer, using Chrome and Safari. Try clearing the cache on your browser, and visiting your website again. Here's how to clear your cache on Chrome:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. Click More tools. Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Click Clear data.

Please let us know how you go with these steps!

Nope. All that did is make me have to login to everything again.

I just re-typed the site but without the www. and it worked.
