Why isn't my Square Online site calculating GST at the checkout?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Online orders store, GST amounts do NOT appear, in-person is fine.

Hello, my online store does not list GST amount, it just lists

Subtotal: $

Estimated taxes: $0.00

In-person it works as expected. Is there anything else I need to do to enable this? I see many Square onlnie stores in Australia that have the GST correctly listed, but I can't see in any options about enabling this?

My (temporary) website this applies to is: montymole.io

Thanks,

Thanks for sharing, @montymole! I can see what you mean.

I've reached out to our Advanced Support team about this, and it looks like the default GST sales tax that comes set up on every Square account was deleted on your account at some point, and a new GST sales tax has been created in its place.

The team has let me know that inclusive GST will automatically apply to your online sales (like you can see on the other Seller's website) if the default GST is set up. If this default tax is deleted, it will need to be restored by our Engineering team.

A ticket has been created to get this restored for you. As soon as I have an update, I'll reach back out to you here.

Thank you for your patience in the meantime!

Thanks for your question, @montymole.

I've gone ahead and merged your post with this existing thread where this topic has been previously discussed.

At this time, Square Online doesn't support displaying tax amounts in Australia. In the meantime, you're able to provide your online customers with a tax invoice upon request by navigating to the Transactions section of the Square Dashboard.

We'll continue to pass on all feedback we receive about this request with the Square Online team.
If we have any news to share on this in the future, a Community Moderator will reply back on this thread with an update.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help here. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

cruff.com.au

Both these sites have GST properly showing when checking out. How can I make my site behave the same way?

Thank you for the quick replies! Yes I think you are correct. It was many years ago now, but I do somewhat recall my removing the default GST tax many years ago upon initial creation and navigation of my Square account.

Thanks again, and looking forward to using my online store😊

I have a reference number but I'm not 100% sure if Square support understand or the ticket has been escalated properly
