Why is it so difficult to run a report for items sold through a balance payout?

Doing accounting with this system is an absolute nightmare. I don't understand why I can't run a report that shows me how many times I sold a certain item within a specific payout. Am I missing something here???? The report is an absolute catastrophe and it takes me hours to figure out how many times I sold a specific item on a payout. Maybe I'm missing something. Help?

I have found that the square dev team is great at making things pretty and white with buttons but is not the best at understanding the needs of business owners and our desire to understand trends. While they are getting better I have taken some matters into my own hands by working with the API:

For example, this code here will give you 91 days of sales items into google sheets:

I am using AI and the API to "create" the tools I need side stepping the limitations of the Square UI and instead using their direct API access.
