I only ship to the lower "48 US States" - nothing internationally yet on the Checkout Screen for the Shipping Method selection - the drop down displays not only the United States but, all of the other countries. Since my setup default selection is only the "United States" and it is configured to only the lower 48 States, I'm thinking there should be no other options shown, yet you see all of the additional countries. Check out the screen shot below. Perhaps a future consideration for the programmers to consider. Note: The Secure Payment drop down selection also does the same thing - why would you want to offer the other countries when only payments from the United States would be accepted. It's just my observations here but, if you have your account setup to only accept an order or payment from a specific country, then displaying other locations maybe a bit misleading. Yep, I believe the system will prevent someone outside of the US from placing an order but, offering the option in the first place should be prevented. Just my thoughts of course.
Hey @JK_Fiber_Art,
Thanks for your feedback. We will make sure to bubble this up to the correct team. In addition, we are gathering more details and will let you know if this setting is working as expected or if there is a workaround for this feature.
Has this been addressed yet? I still see other countries shown in my drop down and chose United States and Canada only.
Hi there, @2Dhagen! 😀👋
On the Square platform, we offer shipping to many countries which is why you see so many listed in the dropdown. Every checkout screen has those countries as options, but this does not mean they will be able to successfully place an order outside of the countries you have set up in the shipping profile. This is what it looks like universally for all Square merchants with shipping, no matter what countries they have set up on their shipping profiles.
For example, if I were to try and ship to an address in England from your business, it will tell me that address is not supported for shipping. Your customers will only be able to use United States and Canada addresses for shipping to be successful.
I hope this helps!
it’s poor user experience to offer an option that isn’t actually available. Is there a way to toggle only available countries?
