What business type to choose when setting up a new account

I'm starting to set up my new business account but I'm stuck on what kind of business to choose (specialty shop, home goods, outdoor markets, etc). I have a home based laser engraving business and I'll be selling out of my home, *possibly* at craft shows, and *possibly* online. I'm leaning towards choosing "specialty shop retail" or "outdoor markets"? What should I pick? How much does this choice matter? Can I change it later?,I'm starting to set up my new business account but I'm stuck on what kind of business to choose (specialty shop, home goods, outdoor markets, etc). Hi @rebelcat.  Welcome to Square!  To your question, I honestly don’t remember ever having to specify that when I set up my business here over a decade ago! LOL.  Most likely, if I did have to, I chose Quick Service Restaurant, and that is no longer true.  I am now exclusively an ice cream and beverage shop.  My point in mentioning that is my internal change of business model did not seem to affect anything at Square.  My guess here is that Square is using this to help them get an idea of what business types are using their service.  I’d imagine that this gives them data needed to help them prioritize changes and new services they might be considering, as well as to improve their marketing.

I did check all of my settings pages and don’t see any way to change this, so that’s a good bet that it doesn’t really matter — at least not as far as your usage of the Square ecosystem is concerned.  Pick the one that you think best describes your current vision of your business.
