Using Square Appointments for accomodation/lodging bookings?

Hi,

 

Apologies if this isn't the best category to ask this but similarly this question doesn't feel like it cleanly fits into any of the available areas!

 

We currently run a small deli via Square POS, but we also have a few rooms available on site and are looking to rent these out. I'll need to check with my manager but I believe the intent is for it to be more akin to short stays like one would at a hotel rather than long-term accommodation.

 

I've been looking at the Square Appointments app as this was what they recommended and I'm not entirely sure it's quite suitable for what we're looking for, as it seems to be geared more towards things such as restaurants or salons?

 

Would it still be possible to allocate entire days and let people book online? I've tested this with a 24hr appointment but it ultimately feels a bit clumsy and like we're trying to do something that isn't really intended. 

 

Ideally we'd like to block out certain times so that people have set start and end times for a booking (to essentially replicate check-in and check-out times).

 

If anyone has much experience with this or a similar purpose any help would be greatly appreciated - or do you think we would be best looking for another solution with different software/ a different provider?

Thank you for taking the time to not only ask your question but also provide the details of what you need. This was very helpful to understand how we can best point you in the right direction.

 

At this time, Square Appointments works as a Staff Based + Services tool. This means that when your customers go to your booking site they will be able to see the Services you offer and the time that your staff would be available to offer this service. 

 

At this time Square doesn't offer a tool that can help you arrange Rooms and make them available unless you implement a workaround to create "pretend staff members" per Room needed and make the Service as long as the room booking is possible. 

 

I know this may be a bit confusing and for that reason, I would recommend reaching out to our Appointments team if you haven't done so yet so they can best identify how to meet your business needs.
