Who has access to the new Square Online Store
Whether you're new to Square Online Store or already created an online store on the older version, you now have access to the new Square Online Store today. However, if you have multiple sites (e.g. an Online Store for each location) or are outside of the US or Canada, you may not have access to the new Square Online Store yet -- our team is working hard to give you access soon.
Why are we making this change?
We’ve been actively tracking seller feedback and feature requests for Square Online Store over the years and have been working on delivering a more robust solution to fit all types of seller needs. In 2018, we decided to acquire Weebly and leverage their eCommerce technology platform to power the new Square Online Store. Our goal is to have your Square Online Store work seamlessly with other Square products so that you can manage your workflow all in one place - no matter how you choose to sell.
Other important updates:
New Order Management
The new Square Online Store is directly integrated with the new Orders tab so all of your orders from your new online store can also be managed with other channels you use, such as Caviar or Postmates. Historical online store orders can be found in the Transactions tab or by clicking Online Store > View orders from your previous Online Store.
New Square Online Store Support
As mentioned, with the acquisition of Weebly we gained much more than robust eCommerce technology. We now have an entire team of new Square Online Store experts and help articles to help guide you through the new platform and grow your eCommerce business.
Other Important Changes
We want to inform you that a couple important features that were included in the old Square Online Store may not work with the new Square Online Store right away. These features include: the ability for customers to reuse their payment information when checking out online, Item Library Discounts, and the ability to accept or reject orders before charging a customer’s card after checkout. We are actively working to bring you more features to power your online store. Learn more in our FAQs.
