Trasfer of Ownership for the Square POS

Does anyone know if it's really not possible to update such a significant change? My former business partner left the company over a year ago, and I still haven't been able to remove his name from the ownership - even though he initially tried to help.

 

At first, they told us that the device had to be fully paid off. Once it was, we found a transfer option that just keeps failing. When contacting support, they say there's no way to transfer ownership, only by creating a new account and starting from scratch. If that's the case, I might as well leave and switch to another provider with lower fees.

We understand it isn't ideal to have to create a new account, but some information can be exported from the old account and then imported to the new one, saving you time when it comes to gathering customer information or creating an item library.
