Hi, I'm posting this under Online, but the problem also exists in the POS but it is slightly different.
Here is my scenario. I have a business that is similar to a gym. Users pay for example $50/month, plus tax, to subscribe.
I was excited to use the subscription module for this as it seems to be made exactly for that, but unfortunately, due to sales taxes, it doesn't seem usable.
Scenario A: Customer buys via checkout link. That scenario takes the information directly from the plan that was created (Example a basic membership), and nowhere in that creation process can you specify that the price is $50 + TAX, so the checkout link only shows $50. I could create the item at $57.50 (which is $50 tax included), but how will the system know that $7.50 is tax, it is not specified anywhere.
Scenario B: I sell the membership instore using the POS. In that case, if I want to charge tax, I need to manually enter a single tax % for every subscription. It makes no sense to ask staff to manually/arbitrarily enter a tax % on every subscription sell, plus here we have 2 taxes not a single one and there is only 1 field. Finally, if I created the plan to be compatible with scenario A, and use it in scneario B, I have to add the tax on top of 57.50 which also doesn't work.
Surely there are other gym-type business on Square, did anyone figure this out?
Cheers!
Vincent
sounds like you need to set up your taxes in settings. My taxes are all automatic
Even for subscriptions (The new subscription module)?
