Tax is being charged on shipping, but not on item

I'm setting up my online store and thought I had everything dialed - but now, the rate is being applied to shipping instead of the item. I need the shipping to be non-taxable but the sales tax to apply to the item. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you go into your square account settings? that's where sales tax is managed. 

Account & Setting > Business Information > Sales Taxes > Add your Taxes there (blue button Create Tax) and also add your sales tax registration for online orders below
