Square for Roadside Business

Hello

I want to know more about the Square services. My business is a roadside business with different services. I want to know that I want to use Square for

  1. Invoicing to customer
  2. Purchase order to vendor and order receiving
  3. Customer database
  4. I will also need to add pricing of all the products we will sell for invoicing to customer.
  5. Sending quotation to the customer
  6. As its a roadside business, so I will only need TAP To PAY ON IPHONE.

Can anyone please tell me how i can choose these services only and cost of that? Also, can I add more services from square if needed?

Hello and welcome, @RBH_👋

I'd be happy to help answer your questions!

From your list, options 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are all included with Square’s free Point of Sale software. You can access these features at no cost using the Square Point of Sale app, or by logging into your Square Dashboard via a web browser.

As for your interest in receiving and ordering stock via purchase orders, that functionality is part of our Square for Retail Plus plan. This is a monthly subscription designed for businesses with more advanced inventory and reporting needs. You can learn more and compare plan features here.

Just to note: if you decide to subscribe to a paid plan, you’ll still retain access to all the free features, you’ll simply unlock additional tools on top.

Hope this helps get things rolling, and feel free to reach out with any more questions!

My pleasure, @RBH_!

It's not mandatory to process your card payments through Square. You can still set up an account and use Square for recording purposes and inventory management. That said, it’s often simpler to keep your payment processing and inventory in one place.

I did notice you mentioned invoices and it’s actually quite common for businesses to generate and send invoices through Square, but accept payment directly, such as via bank transfer. That’s a great example of using Square’s tools without processing payments through the Square system, if that makes sense.

A few things to note about invoice customisation: you can adjust the layout, add your logo, change brand colours, and add or remove custom fields. However, deeper customisation like changing the font isn’t currently available. For an overview of what you can change, feel free to check out this page.

If you'd prefer to talk through this with someone, you're absolutely welcome to give our Support Team a call. They can walk you through the options and help clarify what’s possible. You can reach them on 1800 760 137 (Mon–Fri, 9 AM – 5 PM Melbourne time).
