Square Online Checkout Page Error

I am not able to access any of my Square Online Checkout Pages and customers are having issues too.

“Your connection is not private / HTTPS certificate is not valid” (I can provide a screenshot)


To troubleshoot, I have attempted to view this page from multiple browsers (Chrome / Firefox / Opera) on MacOSX and on a Windows computer with no luck. I have also attempted to view these pages on my iPhone.


The links only seem to be working if I turn on a VPN on my computer, or if I turn off WiFi and utilize my cell data on my iPhone, rather than connecting to WiFi to view these pages.

 

I have already reached out to Square support via chat and they weren’t able to help. They said the links were displaying just fine for them.


Could the issue be with my internet provider? We are utilizing Comcast / Xfinity. Is this a known issue?


Please help, as we are losing sales due to this issue!

Hi 14thstarbrewing,

 

I'm assumning your website is "https://www.14thstarbrewing.com" and your Square shop is "https://14thstarbrewing.square.site"  -  everything I tested including the link you provided works regardless of which browser I have tried.  That may explain why Tech Support indicated they did not see any issues.  As for the link you provided, I didn't see that annotated in your shopping section.   Not sure where that link is located on your site however, it does work - no errors or messages.  The issue may not be with your ISP but, perhaps your routers wifi signal strength if that's how you are connecting.  As you stated, you don't get the error when using your cellular data.  Have you tried connecting your computer to your router direct or hard wire.   I also checked your Security Cert and it's valid until "Tue, 27 Aug 2024 23:59:59 GMT".   There may be other issues like your computer's date and time (which is rare) or your browser's cache, cookies and temp files or even your AV software.  Just tossing out some troubleshooting suggestions.

Thank you. The issue I am having isn't with our online Square store, it is with the links created from the "Online Checkout" option on the dashboard.

Thanks for clearing that up - regardless, the link you provided worked fine for me so I'm not sure what the cause of your issue is.  It worked for me and for you via your phone but, not otherwise.  Perhaps having some additional people test it from their desktops would narrow it down.  Just curious, have you rebooted your all of your hardware including your router?
