Hi there, new to Square (used to use Etsy) and need some help with shipping methods.
I have the Professional level account ($12/month) to keep costs down since most of my business has been done at in-person events, and I hope for those to return. I know the Real Time Shipping would solve it, but the $72 Premium level plan monthly fee is way beyond my low volume business.
So I set up shipping per item for all my items (see below) figuring I would maybe break even with local shipping being charged a few bucks over and distance shipping would cost me a few bucks out of pocket... by it is not showing accurately.
When I test it by adding two items (to an address not my own) it still appears as $10, but three items shows correctly as $15, and 4 items incorrectly appears as $15. It's like the fees are off by one item.
I've checked and all my items have an inventory of 1 (these are one-of-a-kind) and estimated weights entered so I am unsure where the problem is.
Each rate needs a range of two numbers, and zero is not allowed, nor the same number for min and max.
I suppose I could try shipping by weight, but again this would cost less for local and more for distant deliveries because it would not be accurate without the (expensive) Real Time Shipping plan.
If it helps, I make pottery (http;//gosscraeft.com) so each package is usually 2 to 5 pounds for 1 to three pieces.
Of course I could offer free shipping, but would need to raise my prices and this would throw off local in-person POS transactions.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated, thank you!
Hi @GossCraeft Welcome to the Seller Community 🎉
Does this happen with all items, or is there a particular item(s) you are testing? I'd like to take a closer look into this by replicating your test order. Can you post a link to the item or items you tested?
Thanks in advance!
