Setting up a donation Button on my website?

Im trying to add a donation button to my website.  I've created the Item, set it as donation, added recommended amounts.  Also allow for custom amounts.  But when I add it to my website the donate button is greyed out and says out of stock.  

Is this a common problem?  Ive searched for solutions before posting but can't find anything.

Something definitely sounds amiss here, as donations aren't ‘products’, so there are no item tracking, shipping or pickup options. If this was set up as an item, rather than a donation, you might have to add stock to get around this, but I'd love to hear a bit more about how donations work in your business - e.g are you selling items at a donation cost? Looking forward to hearing back from you!
