Selling Internationally - Sales Tax

Hello,

I am setting up a merch site by integrating the Printful API into Square - so it is Print-on-Demand drop shipping.  I am the one that is responsible for setting the tax rates based on where the buyer lives.  I am having issues setting up the US Sales Taxes as I don't have the ability to use that Automated Tax Rate solution because my store is located in Canada.  I've tried to manually add the taxes but I can't save them.  Do I not need to charge sales tax to US customers because I don't have "nexus" in the US?

Thanks,

Kristin

Hi @Sweetlife2023 - I see this is your first post in the Seller Community so I'd like to officially welcome you! 🎉👏

Generally speaking, this is correct. If you do not have a physical location or reach the threshold to trigger a tax nexus, you are not obligated to collect taxes for those customers. I recommend checking out this support article as a reference but ultimately, you should speak with a tax professional as well to confirm.

I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions 🙂

Amazing!  Thank you _Violet!  I ended up speaking with my accountant and she said the exact same thing.  I’ll have a look at the support article as well.
