I cannot seem to get the navigation links to goto the stories pages, only to a specific story page.

HI, you can add to Navigation Links here

Select your Story, click Header, Navigation, Navigation Links, +Add Navigation Link, Link to Story Page

exactly, when I select the Stories from the pull down UI, it never links to that page, which should show all the story page instances....

HI, to understand, you would need to add Drop Down selections from Stories in the Navigation.  Each would need to be added in the drop down.
