Report of items with Pre-Order enabled

How do I get a report of items where pre-order is enabled that will show me what the pre-order settings are?  I'm trying to find items where the pre-order date has past and needs to be removed from the sales channels.  So far the only way I have found is to look at each item individually, which is not efficient.  Hoping someone knows how to do this better.

Hey @JohnDHamilton.  I think you’ve found something that can’t be done.  I looked for a pre-order filter in the item catalog — not there.  Then I exported the item catalog hoping that there was a field there for pre-order — also a no-go.  Obviously, something like this probably should be available but it’s not.  My only suggestion would usually be to head to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request.  But that would only start what is usually a rather long process, and would not help you at all in the short term.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, here.

Hey Chip,

Thanks for the response.  I had the same findings.  Do you know of an app in the marketplace that might help with this?  Maybe some sort of advanced reporting app?

Off the top of my head, and after an admittedly quick search of the App Marketplace, I can’t think of any.

That being said, depending on your level of techniness, you might be able to use the Square Developer APIs to extract this information, but doing so is definitely above my “pay grade” as well as my level of expertise.  For example, here’s a link to the Catalog API, which might have pre-order flags/information somewhere in the API’s objects.  This is part of the Square Developer suite of APIs and SDKs.

Keep in mind that I’m just throwing spaghetti at the wall here.  I believe you’ve found one of those “can’t get there from here” issues, sort of like my issue with not being able to see customer-level details about my loyalty program easily since there is no report, no CSV, nothing that gives me visibility into that data, yet.

I wish I could be of more help.
