New to Square: Does Square automatically send the customer a receipt after an online purchase? Or do I have to visit the dashboard and send the customer a receipt?
I did a trial purchase and since a receipt wasn't coming into my inbox, I sent a receipt. Now I have two receipt and wonder if I sent two, or one is automised 🤔

At the moment Square Online sends an order confirmation email and SMS. A receipt can be sent from the Dashboard manually for tax purposes, but at the moment one isn't sent automatically from an online order - I wonder if you saw the confirmation email and a receipt, or might have accidentally sent two receipts manually?
Is there a plan to send out the receipt automatically after purchase? We have many business customers and forcing them to constantly ask us for receipts is a really redundant process. Sending out receipts to customers automatically seems like a pretty basic function. Maybe I am missing something?

At the moment, this is not a feature that is currently available through the Square Online platform. However, it is a popular request that we're currently tracking.

I definitely did not get the SMS or order confirmation. I embedded a link into our WordPress site. It's not a Square website.
@L3CTA_Jessica - got you, that makes all the difference! I was referring to the Square Online platform. If you're using a 3rd party web store provider with Square being used as a payment gateway, none of my initial post will apply!
In this instance, it'd be up to the web platform (eg Wordpress) to send a receipt/confirmation email. You can also manually send one via Square like you've done via the Transactions section. I don't believe Square will send a receipt automatically for any transactions made where Square is in use as a payment gateway on a 3rd party web platform, you'd need to initiate this manually.
