Preorder function: Is there a way to limit other items on the same order?

Love the new option to sell things as preorder! We've been using this in both our retail store and our bakery. One thing that would make it better, though, is if we had the option to keep other "regular" items from being put in the same cart and included on the same order.  At our bakery, our offerings change daily and our inventory reflects what's in-store that day.  If someone preorders a sandwich platter for Super Bowl Sunday, for example, right now they are able to put other bread and pastries (baked today) in their cart and they are told to pick up everything on Sunday 2/11.  We likely won't have all of those same items on that day, and it also subtracts from today's inventory. Is there any way to make it so that preordered items have to be on a different order?  We've tried making manual notes for our customers in the title and description fields, but they don't always read or follow them and they continue to be confused.

Currently, there is no way to only add pre-order items to an order without other items that are not pre-order. I can definitely see where this feature would be important for businesses like yours. 

The only workaround here that I can think of, would be having a separate site for pre-order items only. However, you would have to upgrade to the Plus plan for the second website as well.
