WHY? Why did you put these new scrolling buttons where you did, between the section title and the description? Why can't I at least change the color and position of them?
Very disappointed with how the website product is being managed. Releasing some inane features, neglecting some basic functionality (subscriber welcome email!).
I'm tempted to try Shopify or Wix for POS and ecommerce.
Hi @Tommer. I’ve included a couple of screen shots below. The first one has circled the scrolling buttons I believe you are referring to, right? I’ll agree that their placement/presentation seems arbitrary and should be allowed to be customized. Of course, as you know, getting an answer to a “why” question won’t get you anywhere. It is what it is for now. You can go to the Ideate board and post a feature request to the Online section.
Even if the Online Team accepts that request, it won’t be a quick fix for you. However, you don’t have to use this particular layout of the Featured Items section. Pick a different one of the four available. To do that, edit that section, scroll down to “Customize” and choose “Layout and Color.” See second screen shot below. You are using the second of the four layouts, I believe. The first one might be more to your liking, but that’s just my guess. Hopefully you can just remove the offensive scrolling buttons while Square evaluates your request.
I get your frustration when things don’t go as you’d like. But, IMHO, the online team has done a fantastic job of rolling out more and more features, giving us more options and flexibility, etc. Yup, they occasionally do something that makes us shake our heads, but all POS platforms do that. I know folks who use Shopify, Wix, Toast, Revel, etc, and they all have something to complain about. However, if you feel that strongly that you aren’t getting what you need, maybe Square is not the platform for you anymore. Square isn’t going to change their direction because of promises to leave them by any of us, but they will respond positively to suggestions on the Ideate board.
I hope the suggestions above help you get past this frustration in the short term.
