We are a custom cake bakery and I would like to be able to set it up so that a customer can order a (preset) birthday cake for a date in the future. However I would need to set black-out dates and a minimum lead time. Is that even possible? I really don't want to have to use another online sales platform for this since we already run everything else through square and our website is hosted through square.
Hi @CanonsburgCakeC. It has been a while since I looked at the current Fulfillment options. However, I just spent a little time there and do not see a way to handle all of the functionality that you are needing. While minimum lead/prep times are possible in a couple of different ways, black-out dates are not yet a thing.
Which, of course, means that if you need all of this yesterday, you’ll need to go with another online sales platform. If you head over to the Square App Marketplace, you’ll find various third-party apps that integrate with Square. This has the advantage of allowing you to continue to use Square to process payments from a third-party store and to keep your website that you already have. All of the available online store apps have their own way of integrating into your Square website, but they’re all pretty easy to do.
Sorry that I couldn’t give you the answer you wanted, exactly, but I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
