Images getting cropped to square on zoom-in click in item page.

Hello! I have my main images set to crop to square and my item page images set to scale. It works great for consistency on the main page while allowing customers to see the full image on the item page.  However, I just discovered that when I click on the image to zoom in - it re-crops it to a square aspect ratio.

How the image looks in the carousel view:

How the image looks when I click on it to zoom in:

Is there any way to fix this so that the zoom in image keeps the original scale aspect ratio and doesn't crop?

Thanks for all your help!

At this time, there isnโ€™t an option to disable the zoom or lightbox effect when a customer clicks on an item image in Square Online. When the image expands, it may crop slightly so it can properly fill the viewing frame.

To help reduce that cropping, itโ€™s best to use images with a more standard or square aspect ratio rather than very tall or wide images. Keeping the main focus of the image centered can also help.

You might also consider adding additional photos that highlight important details, especially if thereโ€™s something you donโ€™t want to risk being cropped in the zoom view.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you need anything else ๐Ÿ˜Š
