How to rearrange service display categories for Square Appointments online booking flow

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Categories not reordering online shop.

Can anyone help, I tried doing this suggestion below by Laura but it still isn't working. If someone can help I'd be very appreciative. 


I've taken a closer look at this functionality on my own Square Online site, and I was able to save changes to my published site after rearranging my Site Categories. There are currently two places you can go to rearrange your Site Categories, so what I recommend is checking to ensure you have the correct arrangement in both areas and then publishing your site once more.

From your Square Online overview page, select Items > Site Categories > Rearrange categories. Once finished, select Done rearranging

Next, navigate to your Site Editor through Website > Edit Site > and select your Order Online or Shop All page. Next, select your Item List section in your template on the right. Then select Arrange & add items. Hopefully, you'll see your recent changes reflected on this page. If not, you can click and drag your categories to your preferred order. Select Publish once finished.

If you're still unable to see your changes reflecting on your live site, please reply with the order in which you'd like your Site Categories to be displayed, along with your site URL, and I'll be happy to raise this request to our Square Online team.

I've taken a closer look at your website and noticed that you have a Square Appointments online booking flow, rather than a traditional Square Online shop with Site Categories.

For businesses using Square Appointments, the ordering of services works differently than the standard Shop All page categories that Laurie described in her response.

To rearrange your services for Square Appointments:

- Sign in to your Square Dashboard.
- Go to Appointments > Online booking > Channels.
- Select Edit service display.
- From here, you can drag and drop your services into your preferred order.
- Be sure to save your changes when finished.

This should allow you to customise the order your services appear to customers on your booking page.

Hi, 

I am unable to see the Arrange Item option on the Website > Edit Site > Order Online > Item List . We don't see the Arrange & add items instead it has "This shop page displays all of your items. You can manage items in Dashboard." however, there was no option to rearrange the categories on the dashboard. I wanna to check if you can help on this. Our website is https://www.theyatai.com/

For food & beverage businesses using the Order Online page (rather than the standard Shop All page), the item arrangement process works differently. The message you're seeing is expected for this type of ordering page, as menu management happens in the Dashboard rather than directly in the Site Editor.


Here's how to make changes:

1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard
2. Navigate to Items & services > Menus
3. Select the menu you want to modify, or select Create a menu

From here, you can:
- Rearrange menu groups by dragging and dropping them
- Edit the layout of items within each menu group
- Add new menu groups to organize your items

If you need more specific guidance on organizing your menu items, feel free to share which aspect of your menu you're trying to rearrange, and I'd be happy to provide more detailed instructions!
