How to categorize items/transactions that have been processed

How do I categorize items/transactions that have already been processed? These were processed through our wordpress website where we have square connected. On our report there is category that says "uncategorized" but cant find the items/transactions to put them into a category

And would love to know how to prevent this in the future. I have went on wordpress and cannot find anywhere to tell square where to put these transactions.

Hello @SVM, 👋

Sorry to hear you're having trouble locating uncategorized items.

Currently, we don’t have a way to change or add a category to a past sale. We'll let you know on this thread if this changes in future!

The quickest way to find uncategorized items is to export an Item Details report from the Transactions Tab on your Square Dashboard. Column D in the spreadsheet is where you’ll see the categories listed for each item. Any rows labeled None are uncategorized items.

For a broader view, you can also export your entire Item Library to an Excel or CSV file. Just head over to the Item Library page on your Square Dashboard, click on Actions in the top right corner, and choose Export Library. After downloading, look for column F titled Category and keep an eye out for any blanks. If you spot an item without a category, simply go back to your Library on the Dashboard, find the item, and assign it a category right there.

If you find that all of your items are in fact categorized, I would recommend reaching out to Wordpress directly to see if they can provide any insights into this reporting issue. As they handle the integration, they may have some solutions for you.

If you’re still having trouble, our Support Team is ready to help. Please feel free to reach out by logging into your Square account and heading to squ.re/contactsqsupport.

I hope this information is helpful - if you have any more questions, just let us know!
