How many reviews does it take to stop me from accessing my money?

I have been locked out for review again in 3 days. I was warned the first time. I sent in information and it was unlocked. The next day under review again and locked out. It has been ongoing since yesterday morning. This has cost me sales. I am new but leaving as soon as I can.

Hello @collecttrcks !

Reviews of accounts--especially new accounts--is a normal process regardless of who you're using for your merchant processor. There are a bunch of behind the scenes checks that have to happen on both Square's side and with the federal banking side. Usually, these reviews take a 3-5 business days to be fully complete.

You may be able to use your account for smaller sales or to ramp up your selling, but your funds may not be available right away. If you get your account and immediately start processing larger transactions than usual for your industry type, that's going to be a huge red flag for both Square and the feds. If there's a second hold on your account, the systems found something that doesn't seem right and there is a review in play. This will take time to complete.

As long as you're following Square's Terms and Conditions and the usual best practices when it comes to card processing--swiping your own card for funds is a big no-no!-- these holds should go away and you'll be able to process as usual. Again, this is going to be the case regardless of where you go.
