I cannot figure out how to hide some variations online. I have more items available in person than online.
I am really not sure if I was supposed to use modifiers instead of variations. I do not understand the difference. Is that the answer?
"Modifiers" are great for add-ons or for entering special information (I have a cheese shop and use "modifiers" on my gift baskets and cheese boards for dietary restrictions, for example).
"Variations" are better for different flavors, sizes, colors, etc. (I use variations for the different size cheese boards or cheese cuts. I also use variations for things like jams - cherry, strawberry, etc.).
So for example, if someone orders a cheese board from my online store, they can select the size using variations (this also allows them to see the what the different sizes look like), then add on things or communicate dietary restrictions with modifiers. Here's what that looks like for our cheese boards: https://www.callee1945.com/product/game-day-meat-and-cheese-board/1317
Then, you can "hide" or mark variations unavailable online but still have them show up on your POS.
