@coheneric5 I think I have a pretty easy, straightforward way to do this, but I have questions:
answer to your questions.
1- yes
2- for the salads it is the same choice for both combos
So, can you let me know the solution??? It is very urgent
Apologies for the delay. I am almost done in a meeting and then I can reply from my iPad and not my phone. Probably 30 minutes.
ok thank you.
@coheneric5 Here are the steps that I believe will do what you want.
That should do the trick, other that putting these new items on your POS grid, and if you have an online store enabling them there as well.
Let me know if you need anything else, or if I misunderstood your end goal, here.
Regards,
ok thanks for the instructions. By any chance do you have a video tutorial that shows this?
Best.
below are links to Square Help articles on those subjects. Unfortunately the only one that has a video is the item article.

ok it is done I think. How can I simulate the combo selection now? Thank you
Hi,
I still have. a problem, the customer can't choose more than 1 option for each category. (check my screenshot)
Why would you want them to select more than one option in each category? Are you saying that each salad in a combo can have its own fish, or meat, or chicken? All salads aren’t the same for one combo?
I think you misunderstood. Let me explain you the combo: no matter what they will get the 6 Mediterranean salads, then they would have to choose between the 2 fish options (they can only choose one), then they will have to choose between 2 poultry option (they will choose only one), then the side order (as default they will only get one) and the dessert, they will only get the default one.
That’s what I thought you meant.
Then in your previous post, you were saying that the customer IS being allowed to choose more than one option for fish and poultry, and shouldn’t be? If so all you need to do is edit those modifier lists and say that customers are allowed a minimum or 1 choice, and a maximum of 1 choice. Then if they try to click a second one it won’t allow it.
Also, you do not need to have modifier lists for Side Orders or Dessert or Salads, since this combo meal automatically gets those, Just say what is included in the description.
Does that make sense?
And as much as I hate to do this to you, I’m going to have to stop here very shortly. Maybe it would be better for me to call you tomorrow morning?
@coheneric5 Again, my apologies that I had to pause our conversation last night. If you haven’t gotten this resolved yet, do you want to consider talking this through on the phone today? If you do, I can send you my number via a private message here on the board. I am available most of the day except between 2-3:30pm EST.
Regards,
Thanks for your help, it has been resolved. Just one more question, how can we put this under a new menu called "Catering" and have this published online too?
Best.
@coheneric5 I’m glad that most of it has been resolved. To answer your question about adding this under a new menu in your Square Online Store, there are a few ways to do this, but here is one.
This should do it. Just be aware that the Online Store can take a few minutes to update after you Publish it. Also, I’m assuming that you already have an Online Store and don’t need to set one up from scratch. If you don’t have an Online Store already, there are lots of steps, and you’ll need to review a lot of Square Help to get you through that.
Good luck,
thank you.
Check out Feedplan, we make this easy and we don't charge restaurants any commission fees.
