[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: How to have available items & Special Order Items at Same time]
Here is the situation...
Some items I have ins tock and Some are special order and are not available for immediate pickup... How do I manage this and not have other issues... Looking for Ideas, Best practices and if this is even possible. some of my initial questions include:
1.) If I stock a item in Black and Blue but can special order Red, and Green.. How do I do this?
2.) How do I avoid inaccurate stock issues, and low stock issues
3.) How do I make items with Zero Stock ( Mail Order Only) be available online?
4.) How do I let customers know of this situation

Hi, I love your Disney items.
My ideas.
1) a Special Order category with the Red, Green option, so on the listing for the Black, Blue add a text stating see Special Order category for Red, Green and/or a product image of the red and green with the text Special Order available see category
3) a Mail Order Only category leaving the track stock option alone, so it won't track.
4) Home page category, Mail Order Only & Special Orders, display like Luggage & Bags, Tech and Nausea Relief
