Formatting Options - T with a line through it and Field Customisation

Hi All,

I'm new to using the Square site editor and this is a dumb question, but I can't find a definitive answer. I contacted support and they weren't much help either.

In the site editor when you click into a field and select the text, you get the options of Bold, Italics, a chain link for links and a little T with a line through it. What does that actually do? I assume remove formatting, but if the formatting is statically set in the site design section per field, there isn't any real customisation that you could do separately anyway, is there?

My other question is, is it possible to have fields of the same nature differently styled? For example, in site styles I've set paragraph to be a certain font, but if I want paragraph 1 to be the set font, but I want a separate section, also paragraph 1 to be a different style, is that possible? From what I can see it's hard set and changing the style adjusts all fields of the same class. Is it possibly to html/css and override perhaps?

Thank you in advance, like I said I realise this a dumb question and I appreciate and thank you for any assistance provided.

Hi @QNETS-Jack, welcome to the Square Community! There are no dumb questions here, we would be happy to help.

In regard to your first question, yes, the T with the line through it option you mention does sound like our "Clear Formatting" function. The exact function is to remove all styling from selected text, which will default it to the "Normal" style. After taking a look over this, I am noticing that this option is not available for all sections, so the option is only usable for certain editable sections, where you can adjust font and such.

I believe I understand what you are asking for your second inquiry. You should be able to click on each section of text, and select the "Style" you would prefer from the selections on the left side of your screen (if using a desktop browser). So if you wanted several sections with the same Paragraph or Title Style, you are able to select the same Style for each section.

I hope this all answers your questions! If not, or if you have any other questions, please let me know and I would be happy to take another look.
