Customer Accounts for Canadian Performance Plan User

Are there any Canadian customers who subscribe to a Performance Plan? Do you have Customer Accounts?

Hi Provision. Thanks for confirming as I wanted to investigate if I was an isolated case or not. What I experienced with Square regarding this topic unfortunately has not been a good one in terms of support.  When I first learnt about the Square online option for site hosting last year I thought it was a great idea and noted that they advertised with their Performance plan for Canadian customers this add-on of "customer accounts".  The whole set-up seemed to be too good to be true for small businesses getting started with web sales.  Previously I did my hosting with a third party host and integrated woocommerce for shop and fulfillment needs.  But that gets super expensive with all the licenses they get you to buy plus their system bogs down site performance.  Square being able to integrate both gateway, hosting, and all sounded great especially for such a low monthly cost.  So, I made the switch first trying their free account in the Autumn last year and then in December upgraded to their Canadian Professional plan. Loved how that worked and then in February this year I decided to upgrade to the Canadian Performance plan since it included "customer accounts" as per the attachment.

I made this upgrade in February and immediately proceeded to set-up the "customer accounts" that I expected.  Oh but I could not find any reference anywhere.  So, I contacted support and they told me there is no customer accounts included.  You can imagine my frustration after I had completed my website migration only to find out that Square cannot deliver what they had been advertising for all these months.  Online support said I was the first one to notice this but I find that hard to believe.  There must have been at least one other person in Canada who upgraded to Performance but later found out that no customer accounts still is not available.  In any case, it seems ridiculous how any webshop can expect to grow without being able to offer customer accounts to its clients.  So, I am in complete shock that 1) they falsely advertised this for so long yet did not have it set-up for and 2) how such an essential and simple feature to a webshop is still not available to us. Anyway, when I checked about a week ago they finally had removed the listing of customer accounts from the upgrade link after my repeated warnings about false advertising.  However, there is no information about when we will be able to offer this feature to our customers.  For now, we are stuck without it 😞 Let's keep our fingers crossed that they set-up the license or tech required with Weebly soon so that we can get that feature in Canada too.  All the best.

Hey there,

 

From what I know being in Beta and also sneaking around USA community is that they recently launched it mid last year. So hopefully it will transistion over to Canada soon. I know there must be some rules and regulations that they must follow bringing this to Canada but I will agree with you that this is something that is needed for a long time now esp. when its a standard feature other competitors have like Shopify. 

 

I'm on the Premium plan and I can confrim I don't have Customer account in my plan as well.

 

Lets hope a mod or admin can confrim or shed some light into this matter.

I don't think its available for Canada yet. Can a admin or mod confrim this please? I'm not sure why this isn't available yet because this is something that is needed.

Cool thanks Provision.  Fingers crossed that once we get Customer Accounts we will also be able to offer customer specific discounts instead of only general coupon codes.  That would be rad.

Hey everyone, what are you using instead for customer accounts while waiting for it to be brought to Canada? Any external software/apps that can get the job done with square online?
