All of a sudden with tonights dinner service Coursing is not working. All items are being sent to the kitchen printers with no course designation and no option to hold or fire. I tried toggling it off and then back on again, no change, Can anyone suggest a help???

When Coursing suddenly stops working like that and everything starts printing all at once, it usually points to one of a few issues with either your POS settings, printer station, or item-level settings.
Here’s a checklist you can try to get Coursing working again:
Confirm Coursing is Enabled for the Device
On your Square POS (iPad or Square Register):
Go to Settings > Dining Options & Layout > Coursing
Make sure Coursing is toggled ON
Ensure default course settings are still selected (e.g., Appetizer, Main, Dessert)
Check the Kitchen Printer Settings
Go to Settings > Hardware > Printers > [Your Printer Name]
Tap Order Tickets, then make sure:
"Use Coursing" is turned on
Your categories or item types are still assigned to courses (not reset)
Run a test print to verify it’s connected and working
Review Item-Level Course Assignments
In your Square Dashboard (or POS app), go to:
Items > [Select an Item] > Coursing
Ensure each item still has a course set (sometimes an update clears them)
This is especially critical if you added any new items or duplicated existing ones
Confirm Dining Option is Set at Checkout
Coursing only triggers if you select a dining option like "Dine-In"
If staff accidentally select "Pickup" or "None", coursing won’t apply
Restart Devices
