Coupon codes can't be featured on my website

So coupon codes can be generated but you can't have an area on your own website that allows for a customer to use the coupon code. Does anyone else have this problem and worked out a way around it.

A coupon code can be entered upon checkout by pressing the "+" next to "Apply coupon or gift card":
