Changing "order now" button to read "shop now"

Hi everyone.

I've had this little niggle about my home page for a while and thought I'd see if anyone can help me.

My main banner has two clickable buttons, one says "order now" the other "learn more". I also have a default "order now" button in the header - I would prefer the "order now" to read "shop now".  I was able to select my own text for my featured items (which say "shop now"), but can't see a way to change it for the other areas.

This is my website, so you can see what I'm talking about 😊: https://elliestreasures.square.site/

Thanks for your help, Elaine.

Hi @elliestreasures, thanks for the screenshot. You can edit the text of these buttons if you double click on the button. It will allow you to edit the text. Here is a little video how to do it:

Hi Elaine, thanks for your post, I hope you're well 🙂

I believe this comes down to the Square Online template you have on your site.

It looks like you have your site set to Online Orders which is suited to Restaurants.

The Shop All option would be more Retail based and would give you 'Shop now' instead of 'Order now'. You can switch this from your site editor.

The ordering page lets you display all visible items on your Square Online site and gives you two layout options. The Shop All layout is best for selling physical retail items with support for delivery. To include a Shop All page on your Square Online site:

  1. From your Square Online site editor, select the Page dropdown menu.
  2. Under Order Online, select ‘…’ > Switch template.
  3. Choose Shop All and select Done.
  4. Finish setting up your Shop All page and Publish your site to see the changes live.

If you want the Shop All page to be your entire site, delete all other pages from the Page dropdown menu. If the ordering page is missing entirely and you need to add it again, select +Add > Page > Shop, and choose Shop All.

I hope this helps @elliestreasures

Brilliant, thank you so much Alegra! I'll give this a go - I take it changing the template won't mean I lose any content I already have on my site?  Elaine

You're welcome @elliestreasures, and no this won't affect the content on your site 🙂

Hi Alegra, thanks for your help so far but I've just had a look at this and my "shop" page is already set to "Shop All".  It is my home page that needs altering from "order now" to "shop now" and I can't see a way to do this.

You can see it here: https://elliestreasures.square.site/  or see photo below - it is the two "order now" buttons that I'd like to change to read "shop now" so the entire site is uniform.

Thanks again for your help, Elaine.
