Can this be used for Fundraising in Canada without a business licence?

Hello, I'm leading some fundraising efforts for my child's school trip.  Can I use the square app on my phone to accept payment (think chocolate sales) without a business license?  The app is asking me for licences and federal tax numbers in the "verify you're identity" part of the set up.   If not, oh well... good ol' cash is fine.

Sure, you don’t need to have a registered business to process payments with Square. Many of our Sellers use Square for charity collections, or one-off events like yours. 

During the signup process, you’ll be prompted to let us know how you plan to use Square by selecting your business type or Merchant Category Code. As you’re not a registered business, you should see the option to state that you’ll be using Square as an individual. 

During the registration, the GST/HST/QST Number field should be optional. If you’re unable to continue to the next step without filling any information in this section, could you take a look at the troubleshooting section of this article?
