Hi,
I have a customer just purchased two $35 eGift online. When she entered the 2nd eGift card number to make a purchase (purchase total is about $85) in our online store, the 2nd eGift card was not working. She had to do two transactions in order to make a purchase. Is there a limit on how many eGift can be used in one transaction?
@Chrishawaii3619 I tested this in my account and found the same issue. I emailed Square Support to determine if this is the intended behavior or a bug.
As a workaround, you could send the customer a combined gift card. You'd do this by adding up their total gift card amount, then sending them a new gift card of that amount, then clear the balance on their other gift cards that are being consolidated.
To send them a new gift card, you would just create a 100% off coupon code and purchase a gift card that gets sent to them.
I hope this helps!
Thank you for the advice. I’ll try it next time when customers have the same issue. I think if that can’t be changed at least Square needs to let customers know that only one gift card per transaction. My customer thought her card balance goes to 0 before using it.
Thank you!
