Bug? "Duplicate Item" doesn't truly duplicate an item

In the Item Library, when I duplicate an event, the duplicate event defaults to "Physical Good" under the "Item Type" dropdown box.  If I am duplicating an event, shouldn't the new item also be set as an event? 

 

Similarly, in the "Where it's sold" section, if an item is toggled-off for selling online, when I duplicate that item, the new item is defaulted on.

 

These seem like a software bug as it's not truly duplicating the item.

Thanks for flagging this.

I tested this on my demo account and found that the Item Type for the Duplicate Event also defaulted to 'Physical Good.' I also had Square Online toggled off under 'Where it's sold,' and this did not toggle on for my duplicate item.

@Katie_SQ so I spoke with Tech Support and they also saw the issue and sent it over to engineering.  Engineering replied that this is actually "expected behavior", but that it did seem strange to not duplicate that setting correctly.  Being such, they have sent it in as an "enhancement request".   The support person I spoke with also agreed that the behavior "seems wrong", so hopefully they will make this improvement.
