Bug? Email Collection Pop-Up Won't Go Away on Mobile

I've come across a problem with the Square Online platform where I can't get the Email Collection Pop-up to go away. This happens on a mobile browser, not a desktop, and makes the site unusable.

 

When the store initially loads (either home page or product page), the Email Collection Pop-up appears as expected, however, you can't tap any other part of the screen to make it go away. It's almost like it's forcing you to complete the form. There's no intuitive "X" or "Cancel" button to press to dismiss it, either.

 

Only when I went to turn off the form did I realize there's a black envelope button in the bottom right corner that toggles the form on and off. I don't think this is noticeable or intuitive to most users.

 

On a desktop, you can dismiss the form by clicking away from the form on any other part of the site. I think at the very least this should be a similar function on mobile browsers. Otherwise, adding an "X" button to the corner of the pop-up or a "Maybe later" CTA under the subscribe button would help with usability.

 

I've completely disabled the Pop-up on my store as I feel this is going to deter customers trying to use my store on their phones. With 75% of users using phones to access the web, that's a huge chunk of potential sales I'm not willing to miss.

 

I hope this can be resolved by the Square Online team 🙂
