Browsing Online Store and Back Button

When I browse my online store I click on an item and then use the back button to return to the item list and I get sent way back up to the top instead of staying on the row I was in.

It did not used to do this. It just started recently. I find it very annoying and disruptive when I’m doing a methodical search on my site and other sites that I visit.

Hi @BOSP.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.

The behavior you've described, where clicking on an item and then using the back button returns you to the top instead of staying in the same row, is certainly not the user-friendly experience we aim to provide. I understand the importance of a smooth and efficient browsing process.

I, alongside our engineers, attempted to replicate this issue and were unable to get this issue on our end.

Our recommendation would be to clear your cache and cookies and troubleshoot some browser settings.

Another fix could be to set up Anchor Links

If you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support team here. They will be ready to provide you with additional assistance and updates on the progress of this issue.

Thank you for choosing our services, and we look forward to making your browsing experience seamless and enjoyable.

Thank you for your response. I have done all the things that you suggested. I have also been in contact with Support via email and received this follow-up today:

“Thank you for your reply. Looking further into this behavior, I  wanted to let you know we have identified the difficulties you are experiencing.

The crashes we have you associated with are very rare (as in, few other users were also hitting it) and difficult to reproduce since it seems isolated to only a few users.

For issues like that we make a best effort fix for what could be the likely cause,  request our engineer team to look for a fix, and monitor our crash reporting system for a while to ensure it is resolved. Unfortunately, this can take a while due to a number of factors. Please accept my apologies about the delay and the issue you're experiencing.

If there is anything else I could assist you with, feel free to reply to this email and I'd be more than happy to help.”

It would seem that I’m not the only one to have this issue. I was just “mandatorily upgraded” on October 22. I had a Personal Plan which gave me hosting for my .com. That plan is no longer available and I was given the choice of moving to the Free Plan—and losing the hosting of my .com that I have used for years—or the e.com plan for $348 per year where hosting is included. I had hoped for an improved website experience for myself and my customers. I’m hoping the fix is made soon so that I feel that I’ve made a good choice.

I had a colleague browse my site and they experienced the back button returning them to the top of the page issue as well. I’m an iPad user and they’re android.

I will be watching and waiting for a resolution. Thanks for your help.
